sugar food for diabetics diabetic herbal cane sugar

which sugar should diabetes patients consume. should diabetic patients consume sugar at all?

this is the first question which pops up to a sugar patient and the care takers ,family members,friends of diabetic persons. well a diabetic patient should not take the original sugar at all as it is poison to him  

but we all know we all drink coffee ,tea,fruit juices,sweets etc but imagine if you are asked to take these with out any sugar in it. we can hardly consume the above products.
